In this video Minister of State Norman Lamb talks about the launch of the dementia campaign and the importance of early diagnosis. He makes the following points:
- Dementia is one of the biggest challenges we face
- With an ageing population the estimated 670,000 people living with dementia in England today is set to grow
- Early diagnosis can help people take control of their condition and plan for the future
- I’m delighted to launch this new campaign
- The campaign sends a clear and important message – If you spot signs or symptoms in your loved ones then have that difficult conversation because diagnosis makes a difference
- The Prime Minister, through his Dementia Challenge, has challenged all of us to go further and faster in dementia care making this country a world leader in dementia care
- That requires us all to play our part, including being brave enough to start conversations about dementia to get our loved ones the early help we know makes a difference.
